1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Katla ("the Service"), operated by Katla ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Katla is a headless AI cookie consent platform that provides cookie scanning, AI-powered cookie classification, consent management, and compliance tools. The Service includes the web application, API, SDK, CLI, and widget.
3. Account Registration
You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Use the Service to scan websites you do not own or have authorization to scan
- Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission
- Exceed the usage limits of your plan
5. Plans and Billing
The Service offers free and paid plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan at any time. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, and content, is owned by Katla and protected by intellectual property laws. Your data remains your property. We claim no ownership over the data you submit to the Service.
7. Data Processing
When you use the Service to manage cookie consent on your websites, we act as a data processor on your behalf. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with applicable privacy laws, including GDPR. Our processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy.
8. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Katla shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will retain your data for a reasonable period to allow you to export it, after which it will be deleted.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending you an email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Katla operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
