Why teams move.

Two things separate these. CookieYes bills $0.30 per extra 1,000 pageviews, so a post that does well arrives as an invoice; Katla has no overage charge, and you move plan deliberately instead. And the moment you deploy anything beyond WordPress, a script tag stops being enough — Katla ships a real SDK, headless mode, a CLI and an MCP server for the rest of the estate.

Headless

The consent layer, without the UI you did not ask for.

  • Guard-only mode with no bundled interface
  • window.KatlaConsent plus a katla:consent event on every change
  • A React and Next.js SDK with hooks, or plain DOM if you prefer
  • The hosted banner is still one line away when you want it
Speed

5 KB headless, 15 KB with the banner — and it runs before the trackers do.

  • About 5 KB over the wire in headless mode
  • About 15 KB with the full hosted banner and your cookie data
  • Served from a CDN and cached at the edge
  • The guard runs ahead of trackers, so blocking is not a race
AI

Cookies classified and described without you writing a word.

  • Automatic classification of newly discovered cookies
  • Descriptions generated per locale, overridable when you want your own wording
  • Cookie and privacy policies generated from your real scan data
  • An MCP server, so Claude or ChatGPT can audit cookies and query consent for you
Flexibility

One consent layer across everything you run.

  • Script tag, React and Next.js SDK, or a WordPress and WooCommerce plugin
  • A CLI, so onboarding thirty sites is a script rather than an afternoon
  • A full API, and an MCP server on top of it
  • Per-locale policies and descriptions from the same source of truth
Simplicity

A price on the website and a script tag to start.

  • Published pricing — no quote, no call, no procurement cycle
  • Flat per site, per month, with no usage overage charges
  • A free tier that scans and generates a policy without a card
  • One script tag from nothing to a working banner
That's how the cookie crumbles. Except your SEO shouldn't.4.9 kB headless, and no measurable LCP cost.

MIGRATION

Moving from CookieYes.

Deactivate the CookieYes plugin before enabling Katla rather than after — two consent scripts on the same page will fight over the same cookies.

  1. Add the domain in Katla and verify it by DNS or meta tag
  2. Run a scan to build your cookie inventory
  3. Deactivate the CookieYes plugin and install the Katla plugin, or swap the script tag
  4. Move any script-blocking rules across — Katla maps handles or URL fragments to categories
